Elisa Rose Tea Rooms - Mickley
I'm not going to lie, when I found out The Jiggery Pokery in Mickley had closed its doors I was quite upset. Ive been going there for many years and had come to know the owners quite well. Fast forward a few months later, I heard on the grape vine that The Jiggery Pokery was now open again but under new management & had a complete revamp... introducing Elisa Rose!
I was not prepared for just how amazing this place would be. It's as if I'd fallen down the rabbit hole and into wonderland with a sprinkling of Narnia. This place really does have to be seen to be believed. Enter into a world of fairies and unicorns (watch out for the sleeping fairy on the staircase), everywhere you look there is something different to be seen. The attention to detail is out of this world, every aspect of this tea room has been given the Elisa Rose touch of magic.
Generally speaking, I'm not one for fussy interiors. I'm more for clean lines, white walls with mirror and silver detailing but the interior of the Elisa Rose Tea Rooms works amazingly well & I feel like a little girl again being whisked away into a dream world.
Not only can you sample the delights of their menu, with pies from the one and only Geordie Bakers, and sip tea from their delicate china cups but Elisa Rose offers a decadent party room which fulfils every child's dreams. Elisa Rose offers "Crafternoon Tea." Think dress up with an array of dresses and outfits from an opulent wardrobe, hidden snugs, crafts, afternoon tea, to name but a few. Not only can this perfect little haven be booked for a child's party but also for us adults, because lets face it, we're still young at heart, however instead of sipping juice or tea from tea pots this can be replaced with wine!
Wether you pop in for a cup of tea or a spot of lunch, be sure to bring the children along. Oh no, I hear you say but fear not, Elisa Rose has even thought about our little darlings by creating a perfectly sized play area which is hidden away so they can create their own little world whilst you catch up with the girls or relax for a little while. Either take a seat in their main tea room area or relax in the snug under the enchanted glow of fairy lights and vintage chandeliers.
Needless to say, I cannot recommend this place anymore than I can. There is something for everyone from home made cakes to home made pies, cups of tea to cups of Bloom Gin and Rose Lemonade to bespoke gifts and arts & crafts!
Elisa Rose can be found at Mickley which is just past Prudhoe.
Well done Elisa, I wish you all the success in the world. Your hard work and dedication has certainly paid off and I look forward to future visits which I will assure there you will be many more to come.
