Well, what a weekend last weekend was. I was recently contacted by a premium restaurant and bar in Newcastle called Bonbar and was invited along to an afternoon of pampering at a local super salon, Longlox, followed by an evening meal and cocktail at Bonbar. Needless to say I was over the moon as this is one Mammy who was in need of some me time. Longlox is the ULTIMATE salon here in Gateshead, anyone and everyone knows about it and if you haven't, well where have you been hiding?!
Walking into Longlox, I was super excited! I've always wanted to have the Longlox experience and now I was here. I wasn't exactly getting any hair extensions put in but you don't need to have long hair to be Longloxed. Glass of crisp prosecco in hand (who cares if it was only 1pm, it's 5pm somewhere in the world), I had a couple of inches cut from my hair to freshen it up followed by an amazing big, bouncy, blow dry - how I wish I could do my hair like this myself as it was just brilliant. Next up, I was taken over to the makeup station for a HD make over. Naturally i went for a full face of makeup with an intense smoky eye - I was off out in the evening so why not.
All of the girls at Longlox were fabulous and made me feel super welcome, I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was being pampered herself ready for her birthday night out. Overall I had such a wonderful experience at Longlox, the atmosphere, the staff, just everything was perfect. Not only does Longlox offer hair or beauty services but you can also shop from their retail cube and they host Princess Pamper Parties for the younger girls. I cannot recommend this place more but make sure you book in advance as the place was super busy but I can see why!
The day didn't end there, next up we had a booth waiting at Bonbar for myself and my husband. Bonbar is a premium bar, restaurant and late lounge situated in the iconic Assembly Rooms within Newcastle City Centre. Inside you are met by an exquisite island bar in an equally breathtaking room, this is luxury at its finest. Here, we were treated to a sharing board and cocktail from their Valentine's Day menu and it did not disappoint.
Our host for the evening was a lovely, I think South African, gentleman who was expremely attentive and very well manner - Bonbar has a gem there. I've been served by him before and he's was as equally brilliant then. The cocktail was named the "Porthole of Love Sharing Cocktail," which was infused with rose petals and lemons and was magnificent. The sharing board was great too, so many different dishes which was more than enough for us.
Needless to say, an amazing day was had by both of us and we can't thank both venues enough for inviting us along.
