Put a Spring in your step with Apricot Clothing

13.04.2017

If you're anything like me, you're getting rather tiresome of this temperamental British weather. One minute Spring is here and in the next minute you find yourself bringing back out your Zara puffer jacket... throw me a bone here!

With summer just around the corner, it's time to really start considering your Summer wardrobe and at Apricot, they're got many transitional items to help you through the SS17 period and with a name like Apricot, you know it's going to put a spring in your step with such a fresh and delightful name.

Apricot was founded in 2007 and its main aim is to produce beautiful clothing collections that appeal to both mother and daughter. Apricot is well known for its signature prints and pride themselves in delivering high quality clothing at affordable prices. I've been aware of Apricot for quite some time now so when I was selected to try out some of their SS range, needless to say, I was over the moon.

I was kindly chosen to feature a few of their items on my website and it wasn't easy choosing between their items as they have so many beautiful things. One thing I found with the Apricot website, was that it was aimed at all age groups and all items were so versatile with so much choice, it really is your one stop shop for all things fashion! The website is super easy to navigate and I just loved their "Inspire Me," section, if you're anything like me and you're super indecisive then this is the section for you!

I decided to go for the options I did as I knew they would look amazing come rain or shine ( Hello good ol' Newcastle weather) & also as I felt they were staple wardrobe pieces.

First up, I opted for their "Light Blue Washed Denim Look Shirt," which is currently being sold for £24 via their website. I absolutely love a bit of denim and this piece ticked all of the boxes. It is slightly fitted but not too much so you can still wear it to the shops / out and about and go around your day to day things.

I teamed the dress with a simple gold pleated belt just to create more shape and I feel it topped off the dress perfectly. Denim is one of those things that will always be in fashion and this piece will certainly see me through years to come. This dress actually doubles up as a jacket. I wore it with a pair of black leggings, t-shirt dress and white Superga pumps for a daytime chic look and it equally looked just as nice - perfect for a busy mummy on the go like myself.

As you can see from the images above, I've teamed my dress with a "Tan Fringe Hem Suedette Jacket," and "Navy Fedora Hat." Both are from Apricot and both where a steal. The hat was only £8 (which is now currently sold out but is available in Tan) and, I hope you're sitting down, the jacket was a mere £5?!?! Yes, £5?! And it's STILL available online so go, go, go, get yours now!

I absolutely love the detailing on the jacket, I've always been a fan of fringe detailing but this is certainly one of my favourites. I've worn it a few times now and have had so many compliments, having even been stopped in the street... who doesn't love to channel their inner cowgirl eh?! The jacket goes perfectly with just about anything, even just a simple pair of black skinny jeans and pumps as shown below!

Generally I'm not a hat person, I've never worn a hat bar my big, black faux fur Russian hat I wear in winter but this is not the case anymore, I cannot get enough of this one! The shape and style is very complimentary and is very boho chic indeed!

Last but, by all means, not least I chose the "Monochrome Thin Stripe Shirt Dress," which again was a steal at only £10. This is quite a bold dress for me, normally I don't opt for such a statement Dress however I love this. It perfect for both day and night and is also the perfect beach cover up. The material is light but is not see through in the slightest which is always a bonus. The dress comes with a thin material belt but I decided to go with my ol' faithful gold pleated dress again which really complimented the gold buttons on the dress.

Needless to say, SS17 im ready for ya! I cannot get enough of these items and they are the perfect transitional pieces whilst also the perfect SS pieces. I do like a wardrobe which is transitional and being a busy working parent, I found this website was amazing for all of my fashion needs. Whether it be for an every day look, business meeting, night out with the girls or day at the races, Apricot really does have it all!

Be sure to sign up to their website where you will be given a 15% off voucher - perfect if you're busy updating your Summer wardrobe. Not only can Apricot be found online but it can also be found within high street retailers such as New Look, Debenhams and House of Fraser to name but a few.
