I was recently invited along to a bloggers event at Benito Brow Bar situated within Debenhams at Intu Metro Centre. Needless to say that when I was invited to this event I jumped at the chance as my brows were in desperate need of some TLC.
I was greeted by the Brow specialists and the area manager, which turns out I've know her for years from working within the beauty industry. I was made to feel very welcome and was offered a glass of prosecco and cupcake, unfortunately I had to turn down the prosecco (who's silly idea was it to drive?!) but I snapped up the cupcake, which was to die for and may have took one home... don't judge!
When the other bloggers arrived, we were given an insight into the threading world - which has been around for thousand of years and originally began in Central Asia. In more recent times it has gained popularity within the Western World for cosmetic application. Personally, it is my favourite method for maintaining my brows as I believe it is the more precise way to shape my eyebrows, with much thought and analysis going into each movement.
In threading a thin cotton or polyester thread is doubled then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair from the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short rows of hair.
Advantages of threading compared to waxing are that it provides a more precise control in shaping the eyebrows and is gentler on the skin.
My eyebrow specialist was called Palminder and she is an absolute gem to the business. She was very friendly, informative and professional. I was given an eye brow tint (which you must come in 24 hours prior for a patch test) and eye brow thread, this treatment is RRP at £23.
I just had to get a photo of my brows mid-tint... obviously with a cheeky Snapchat filter to try and mask my moon face & 10 chins. The service I received was second to none, I was even asked if I would like an arm, shoulder and hand massage which obviously I just had to say yes to - being a busy working Mammy i rarely get the chance to relax so this was just the cherry on the cake!
The whole experience was very enjoyable and the ladies knew the services inside and out that they were working with. I didn't feel rushed either, which I've experienced before when getting my eye brows done... it's literally like they have your money, quick bodge job, out the door, done. This certainly wasn't the case at Benito - it was all very relaxing and those chairs, my goodness, were the comfiest chairs! So much so I almost fell a sleep!
Not only does Benito do eye brow treatments but also natural look lashes and dramatic look lashes. Men, don't worry there's services for you too so don't feel left out!
At the end of our session, we were given a gift bag which included many goodies such as a candle, bath bomb, money off vouchers and a note pad and pencil - its safe to say we were well looked after during our visit and I shall certainly be returning!
